Arrival and swimming at the Blue Hole on the Ocoee river.

Our first full day at Eagle Ranch was our team building day where we encouraged each other on the climbing wall, worked together to complete tests on the challenge course and paddled together on the white water raft trip down the Ocoee River.

Today the youth helped fix up the yard and garden of Arthur Richardson. Arthur lives in Pleasant Hill, Tennessee and continues to run a farm while living in the traditional southern Appalachian manner. The youth cleared brush, did yard work, and weeded Arthur's garden.

Today the youth worked on an Eagle Ranch camp project called the Homestead. In an effort to preserve the heritage of the area, the camp is building a retreat cabin (using all hand labor) which will provide a place for people to experience traditional southern Appalachian living. Later in the day the youth visited a copper mining museum, located in Copper Hill at the Burra Bura mine site.

This was the youths' final work day at the camp. The youth painted the front porch and brick foundation for Helen Hensley who lives in Ducktown, Tennessee.
